INTRODUCTION
The Matte Painting tutorial is a 39-page guide showing you, over five parts, the basics of Matte Painting, whilst also giving some more advanced techniques in the final chapter. Industry professional Tiberius Viris takes an interesting photograph and creates an easy-to-follow set of tutorials about how to add varying conditions to this – or any other – scene.
This tutorial is aimed at beginners, as well as those who already have some experience with matte painting – advanced knowledge of Photoshop is required in both cases. If you are not familiar with adjustment layers, layer masks or channels (RGB), you should read about these topics prior to starting this tutorial. The base image used within this tutorial can be found in the download file with the eBook.

For its price, I believe the product is good for beginners. I bought it for the new matte painting department in my studio and the boys have been doing some cool stuff recently. (Posted on 11/06/2012)Value - Helpful Review by John

As the reviewer before has stated, a good technical knowledge is helpful, but the writer could include more screen shots of layers pallets and menus to assist more beginning matte painters. It would add immensely to the book. (Posted on 13/02/2011)Value - Well worth the read Review by Matthew Kenny

"A good selection of tutorials to get you started, but would advise a fairly strong technical knowledge of Photoshop or you may be left feeling like you have missed out on a lot of the information included.Value
Well worth the read to get you started with Matte Paintings."
