Example projects are a great start!

I really like the fact the this book follows the 3 little projects to show complexity and software workflows.

I am still working through the projects but the projects are well paced and easy to understand. I enjoy having both the physical book and the all the zpr files, brushes etc to check my progress and to compare my work to the artist's. Wish I'd had this when first started...

Started using Zbrush about this time last year. Have watched the usual online tutorials, picked up some sessions from Gnomon as well as a few of the ebooks/videos here on 3D Total. This book is perfect start for beginner level learners. The projects seem ambitious, but not impossible and build confidence as a result. The instruction is step by step and allows for troubleshooting - which builds knowledge and understanding as a result.

So far, moving through at pace and filling in knowledge gaps that have arisen from the online tutorial approach.

Good Introduction To Z Brush

I have been wanting to try Z Brush for quite awhile but found it quite daunting. I decided to find a good introductory textbook to get me started. I'm very happy with my purchase, the explanations are clear enough and the design of the pages are clean and easy so to read, but I would like if the pictures will be more lightly because sometimes the screenshoots are a litle dark. Great Book for starting into Zbrush

First of all the quality of the book from the printing side is amazing. Very good paper with big, sharply printed pictures invite you to browse and explore the amazing artwork and illustrations.

The content starts of at the very basics so even true beginners will not feel rushed or left behind by the explanations.

This was my first book about zbrush it´s a good point to introduce this incredible software. The explanations are clear.
If you are looking any reference about zbrush in traditional way this maybe your first choice.

Missed a Chance

This book has some nice projects in it as do many of the 3D total references. These books can be inspiring and educational. However, I believe this book misses the boat when it calls itself a beginners guide. If you are familiar with ZBrush you will have no problem with the projects and may still pick up some tricks here and there. The book barely covers Core and most of the new features are mentioned from 4R8, but no real detail is provided for items such as Gizmo which may likely replace the standard transpose tool some day. The book consists of exercises which approaches projects been understandable of the basic concept, in the sculpture until the depiction. Techniques employees are diverse and allow a clear understanding of the software Zbrush.
I have a lot like the fact that we study the organic sculpture, the hard surfacing.

The book is the real success, the impression is beautiful. I deeply advise beginners and to the people who would want to refine their techniques.

Bit Disappointed

Big fan of most 3Dtotal books, however i found this one slightly lacking,e.g would have been nice to touch on the live booleans. just seems a bit out dated.
