The third instalment will culminate in a finished concept design, after which we will move onto the importance of posing your character and the impact this has on their personality. The series will conclude with a chapter dedicated to choosing suitable eye levels and camera views to best convey an emotional state or emphasise a storyline.

Good mix of viewpoints/approaches!
First off I want to say I've spent tons of money on concept art training materials over the years. I bring that up because if you are like me then you won't get much out of Darren Yeow or Bjorn Hurri's articles. Don't get me wrong - they are great articles, but if you done any amount of studying then you've probably come across similar tips and techniques elsewhere.
For those of you who have studied a lot Bruno Werneck's article will be more your speed. He guides you through his though process and is less focused on technique.
David Smit's article touches on subjects that are generally not covered with character tutorials and the price alone might be worth it for Mark McDonnell's sketches. I had a lot of problems with create good, I mean very good, thumbnails of the characters. This help me a lot.
I found there a variety of tips and experiences from proffesionals artist and I can reccommend this book.

Great introductory and examples
It gives great advice and nice examples from the pros. Its worth the price and I would recommend checking it out before you dive into it on your own.
