In the very first issue you will be treated to an introduction to the 3dtotal team, and an insight into some of the projects we are working on at the moment. Additionally you can enjoy some of our sci-fi themed articles and tutorials which we hope will help take your own work to the next step.
  • 3dtotal Anatomy: Adaptable male figure

    2 Review(s)
Study more of the muscular detail and see that detail in multiple poses. Whether you are looking to improve your mastery of hand poses (notoriously an area of difficulty for artists) or develop more accurate dynamic poses for your characters, the larger scale of the adaptable male figure will allow you to see muscle structure and flow of the skin surface in more detail.

  • 3dtotal Anatomy: female figure

    42 Review(s)
Sculpted by Dan Crossland for 3dtotal, the female figure is produced to the same standards as the original male statue, and also to scale. We calculated that our female would be around 5% shorter than our male in the real world, making her 265mm tall, minus the base (our male is 297mm, minus the base). Cast in the same neutral grey resin, together the models will make fantastic desktop companions!
    Incl. Tax: $74.90

  • 3DCreative: Issue 109 - September 2014 (Download Only)

We’re kicking off this month with two wonderful interviewees, Leticia Reinaldo and Nikita Veprikov, both of whom have something to say about finding your own voice and, most important of all, having fun! We certainly hope you have fun reading this issue, where we’ve gathered a wealth of knowledge and resources to help you learn, improve, and find that creative voice we all look for.
  • ZBrush Speed Sculpting Techniques (Download Only)

This three-part tutorial series focuses on creating a realistic and detailed sculpt within a set time limit. Three artists – Daniel Bystedt, Nils Meyer, and Mariano Steiner – are given a base mesh and a set time limit, and over the series, strive to demonstrate some of the best methods for creating a perfect humanoid sculpt in the ever-popular ZBrush software. Each tutorial covers a different character, from concept to refining texture and general finishing, and aims to pass on some useful techniques to aid you in creating your own speedy 3D images (perfect for portfolio building!). There are no set specifications, and artists are free to be as creative as possible under the set time limit, so stand by for some interesting outcomes in this fascinating series.
